1. Introduction
EduLens AI ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- User-Uploaded Photos: When you use the Snap & Solve feature, you upload images of academic problems. These images are processed to extract text and generate solutions.
- Text Data: Any text you type in the app — including questions, voice transcripts, and chat messages — is collected to provide AI tutoring responses.
- Account Information: Your email address and name when you create an account.
- Usage Data: Scan counts, subscription status, and app interaction data to manage your plan limits.
3. Third-Party AI Processing
Your uploaded photos and text data are transmitted to and processed by third-party AI services to generate educational responses:
- Google Gemini (Google LLC): Used for image text extraction (OCR) and generating educational content. Your data may be processed on Google's servers in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic Claude: Used for generating detailed step-by-step solutions and AI tutoring. Data is processed per Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your data to these providers. Data is sent solely for the purpose of generating your educational content.
4. Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your credit card details. Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
5. Data Retention
Your scan history and account data are stored securely and retained while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page, which will permanently erase all your data within 30 days of your request.
6. Account Deletion
You can request account deletion at any time by going to Settings → Delete Account. Upon confirmation:
- All your personal data, scan history, mastery records, and AI tutoring history will be permanently deleted.
- Any active subscription will be cancelled. No refunds are issued for unused portions of a billing period.
- Deletion is processed within 30 days of your request.
Account Recovery:
- If you change your mind, you may cancel your deletion request by emailing customercare@edulens-ai.com within 30 days of submitting it.
- After 30 days, your data is permanently erased and cannot be recovered.
- You may create a new account with the same email address after deletion is complete, but previous data will not be restored.
7. Children's Privacy
EduLens AI is intended for students of all ages including minors. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 beyond what is necessary to provide the service. Parents or guardians may contact us to request deletion of their child's data.
